As our big announcement stated, Imagine Burundi ended its new broadcasts in July 2013. But keep checking back in our Archive - we will be posting new clips of our past episodes there.

And don't forget to check out our colleague's new project, The Burundian Way, a weekly radio program at the same hour on the same channel - 3 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday on 99.4 FM CCIB.

New in the Archive: Our First Holiday Special

The fifth episode of our show fell on December 25, 2011, so we decided to record our first special episode, a Holiday Special. We collected different stories from different cultures on the theme of gift-giving. It’s one of our early favorites, a show where we really hit our objective of getting different voices on the show, sharing perspectives and learning more about life in Burundi and the experiences of people who live there. It’s also one of those critical moments where we sort of realized people might actually want to listen in so we started to place more emphasis on our production value by doing things like recording in quiet(er) spaces. Clips of this episode are now available in the Archive page, including an original song by the Burundian singer, Albert Kulu.

Also, we just wanted to mention that we had an explosion of caller participation during our live show yesterday! Seth ended up on permanent text-message response duty and our technicians had to juggle the incoming calls. It was quite amazing. Thank you to our listeners who are tuning in and enriching our show!
